At The Centered Scholar, we utilize a unique coaching methodology that combines contemplative practices with neuroscience. Our goal is to support adolescent development and wellbeing, fostering growth in executive function skills, resiliency, and motivation.
With over 25 years of experience teaching science and mathematics, I have worked across independent and public schools, as well as nonprofit program development, specializing in supporting neurodiverse learners. My deep personal mindfulness practice and passion for the developing adolescent brain have shaped my unique approach to education. Guided by the principles of neuroscience and contemplative science, I use mindfulness to help students cultivate resilience, self-awareness, and a love for learning that extends far beyond the classroom.
At the heart of my coaching philosophy is the belief that curiosity and connection are the foundation of all learning and growth. I’ve seen how fostering an environment of openness empowers students to take risks, navigate challenges, and develop the confidence to thrive. By integrating mindfulness practices rooted in neuroscience and trauma-informed techniques, I help students build essential life skills that enhance not just academic success but emotional well-being and interpersonal relationships.
